Important Details
The TitanicCon ’26 Ireland Heritage Tour has been planned and coordinated through GoIrishTours. They are graciously personalizing our stay in Ireland and offer us the best samples of Irish customs and culture. Several Titanic-related sites are incorporated into the tour, but quite a number of the places we’ll enjoy cover non-Titanic-related sites and activities. In all 3 major cities, we will invite members of those Titanic societies for a drop in, so that we can get to know Titanic friends and family members in Ireland.
Passport
You will need a valid Passport. Check your expiration date and make plans now to renew if necessary. Do not delay as this process can take some time.
Each person will be required to complete an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) to state our purpose for entering Ireland. Brandon with GoIrishTours will coordinate this requirement with each passenger.

Flight Plans
Everyone is responsible for arranging their own flights from the U.S. to Dublin Airport. You need to arrive in Dublin airport by 9:00 am (Dublin time) on Friday, June 26, 2026. Flight windows for this date range will open soon. We will depart from the airport in our own minibus by 10:00 am for a short drive to Belfast. On July 5, our minibus will arrive at the Dublin Airport at 12 noon. Make sure you schedule your departure time accordingly (suggested time 2:00 pm or later). Your airline should let you know about luggage quantity and weight limits. Most airlines limit each passenger to one suitcase (“checked”) luggage and one carry-on.

Transportation
All transportation is provided by passenger van. Our first van has 2 seats available (as of Nov 1, 2026). We can upgrade to a larger vehicle if more than 2 commit to going with us.

Meals
Each accommodation provides a hearty Irish breakfast (think meat, potatoes, eggs, beans, grilled tomatoes, and more!). Lunch and supper meals will be on your own in the various towns where we are at the time.
A few things to note: Ireland has an extra sugar tax on carbonated sodas and sweets. If you order a soda in a restaurant, expect to pay extra. This tax supports their health care system. They do not serve iced tea; tea is always hot and you may get a strange expression from your waiter if you ask for ice! If you ask for water with a meal, it tends to be carbonated water (no extra tax).

Activities
Entry fees and costs for all activities are included in your tour price. Consideration has been given to accessibility needs when planning which activities are offered. Feel free to search more details via the websites for each activity. Our driver/tour guide will share local stories and history as we travel between towns, offering a comprehensive overview of the countryside.

Currency
Ireland’s currency is the Euro. You should notify your bank that you are making this trip to Ireland and will be using your debit/credit cards while there. By using your cards, you’re not carrying cash and the points of sale automatically exchange at the current rate. Roughly, one Euro is about $1.15 but can fluctuate.
Mobile Phones & Wi Fi
You may want to purchase overseas plans for the trip if you think you will need to call home to the U.S. during your stay. Check with your provider on available options. Some allow daily purchases and rates. Wi Fi will be available at most of the accommodations and in various places in each city/town.

Weather
The average daily temperature in June is mid-60’s (F) and there are strong winds near the cliffs. Plan to wear layers such as a sweater and windbreaker so you can be comfortable. Ireland is known for unpredictable weather so if rain threatens to hamper our plans, we will adjust our schedule as needed. Wearing good walking shoes that can handle a little water may also be helpful.

Jet Lag
There is a 5-hour time difference between Ireland and the U.S. (Eastern Standard Time). Example: when it’s 5:00 pm in NC, it’s 10 pm in Ireland. Jet lag will hit about the third or fourth day (or earlier). Be prepared to get extra rest when possible.

Cost
Total cost of this 7-day/6-night tour (per person) is €2,111.29. Your deposit is 30% and you have until the end of March to pay the balance. All payment is due by March 31st. (To put this in U.S. dollars, Bill and Judi paid $1,337 for their deposit for two people.)
Your seat on this tour is not confirmed until you have sent your deposit to GoIrishTours. Contact Bill Willard at will8441@bellsouth.net to let him know you want to go, and he will connect you directly with Isaac Trumbo at GoIrishTours, who will handle your deposit. Invoices will be sent to you electronically for further payments, and you will pay electronically.

Note: You may want to notify your bank before making your deposit, to let them know you’ll be sending payments to Ireland so they don’t flag and deny the transaction.
Further details forthcoming as needed.
